The Dinka of
Sudan
Can you imagine…………An entire generation under the age of twenty five who have never known anything other than war?………A generation that many are calling the “food-drop” generation?……..Children under 15 who can’t read or write yet can show you how to tear apart and reassemble an AK-47 in a couple of minutes?…….Not ever having seen a Coke?…..Not having posted a letter in 20 years?…….Not hearing a telephone ring in your lifetime?……At least one person in your family dying from the current 20 year old civil war?
This is the reality of life for the Dinka people living in southern
Sudan
today. For forty of the years since independence in 1956 the country of
Sudan
has been embroiled in a civil war that has seen over 2 million of it people die - some of starvation, some through the ravages of war and others of broken hearts.
The Dinka are primarily an animistic believing people who have been virtually isolated from the outside world during the civil war. Our team has been bringing them the gospel through Chronological Bible storying and running a small medical clinic. Pray that the doors of receptivity will remain open and that a CPM can soon begin amongst them.
